1. Someone defend the PC. And I will make my response. *I have made this discussion due to the fact that other discussions end up in this battle anyway.
well Jared's the only one with creditable knowledge so im pretty sure it does me no good. plus i think i may have used up everything i got against macs and everything for PC's in previous arguments
I'll wait for Jared's response... i know he made one at some point, but the discussion got fubar'd and would close itself automatically and eventually it disappeared... wtf, lol.
well i would like to see mac servers in aegons billion dollar industry not one mac in the entire environment, if that says anything for how much macs are liked in a server environment.
im with charlie on this one..theres no reason for us PC fans to even say anything because were too lazy to do research. On the other hand, the stuff we pull outta our asses sounds really good and ligit.(most of the time)
who cares ne more seriously, as u can tell there r some ppl who are pcs only and some r mac users it doesnt matter which is better its if the computer freaking suits what u need it 2 do. i like 2 use both pc and mac and i dont c one as better than the other just because of the fact that they do what i expect them to do.
I honestly don't really care what you like but their is one solid fact about pc's that macs will NEVER be able to say. when you want reliability and stability for mission critical data(ie servers), pc's are the only way to go. & propritary software + business = not a good combo.
Sure they might not look as good but they get what you want done on the cheap.
Jared... you just said Macs aren't as reliable/stable as PCs... and that is wrong. lol. Sure proprietary software + business seems to be a bad thing, but there's essentially no way around it (unless all you need is a server, then linux will be best), but anything that isn't a server in enterprise that is Linux will have a proprietary version that is better.
Macs happen to be very stable..but reliable? im not sure about that..I see PC's being more reliable due to vast knowledge of the hierarchy of the os. If something were to go wrong your prolly more confident in fixing it your self on windows. But in a Mac os you may be a little timid about the situation
Please elborate on your proprietary linux and what not. it makes no sense
Ok... PC's and Macs are just as reliable as each other, meaning that they're both usually great but they both have moments of hardware failure. Ok, proprietary software is better than open source software because they spend time and money on it to make it a better product. Open source isn't as organized and doesn't have research and development. If you were to find an open source tool, there's probably a commercial version of that tool that is better on most occasions. One exception that I listed was running a server.
i just wrote a small novel then deleted it cause its a matter of oppinion, i will never switch over to a mac willingly where as kzeni i am willing to bet you wouldnt switch to a pc.
well when mac owns the computer world i may try it. but i am going to have to say no matter how hard you argue that macs are better, there must be some reason PC completely "pwns" the market. Ignorance maybe? well some yes, cannot deny the fools. But what about the industry professionals, now why would they decide to go pc?
Apples were best back in the 80's and they had all the market share. Then Apples started to suck and they lost all of their market share. Now they're better than PC's again, and they're gaining back market share.
More and more people are going Mac instead of PC. It's not everyone all at once, because it's ignorance on the PC people's side not realizing that Macs are good again. It's also the fact that there's a market that Apple doesn't have a competitor in, the ultra cheap desktop computer.
Malware has reached a record high, and shows no slowing down. (So high in-fact most antivirus programs aren't able to keep their databases up to date w/ the latest malware).
