Mint.com - A new way of money management

There is a new website that just went public called “Mint“.

In the age of brilliant new web applications it’s fitting that a money management app has sprung up. It is a very sleek and enjoyable interface. When one first signs up they are taken to a page where they are given the option to add their accounts, and I found that Mint’s support even included my small town’s bank and credit card. It was a good thing to see right away.

The overview page is everything you want at a glance, and gives you little tips that try to help with your accounts. One might see a new way to save some money with a helpful hint that Mint gives.

Of course Mint offers transaction history. Very basic feature that is implemented in a very polished way.

The web experience given by Mint makes it seem like it should be running as a full blown application on your computer. It’s very visual and very well presented. It’s not missing any features that I personally need, and the fact that it is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection is absolutely astounding. I have to recommend this to anyone who uses programs like this even if they’re set on using MS Money or Quicken. It’s definitely worth a try.

Forgot to mention, it’s totally free!

Burn your .avi Torrents with DVD Flick.

So last night I downloaded Knocked Up and I really wanted to watch on the big screen with surround sound, instead of my little laptop screen and shit for speakers. I searched all over the internet and could not find any freeware avi to dvd software, of if I did it was complete shit. Then I rembered the site best for answering almost any question lifehacker.com. I went there typed in avi to dvd and the first post was about DVD Flick. I downloaded it and it worked fine. It takes about an hour and a half to completley encode and burn to dvd and the software is retard proof. To download this freeware follow this link to DVD Flick.

Good Time to Like My Kind of Music

My two favorite bands, The Bravery and Hot Hot Heat, have both released new albums.

The Bravery’s album is one that I can rate as a full 5 stars for every song on the album. I have only done that once before (The Postal Service).

The Hot Hot Heat album is one that is full of great songs but there’s one or two songs that don’t quite make this a perfect album for me. There is still enough of a reason to get the album as the good ones are really good.

You have to check them both out if you’re into some indie.

New Queedium Website

Kurt has whipped up a new version of the queedium website. He posted a news item on the homepage that outlines why the new website was created, and why you hopefully will like it better.

Feedback is welcome

Steam Releases their XFire Killer

Steam has been a growing community of people with more and more people using it, and they actually like using it.  They have had their application launcher and game download service for quite some time now, but now they have released Steam Community. This is their new platform that you can compare to XFire where you have an application that keeps track of all of your games and your friends. Not only do you launch Steam Powered games from the game list, but you can also add 3rd party games. Steam keeps track of those records also.

One might wonder what exactly is different between XFire and Steam Community. Basically XFire has the application launcher, buddy list, instant messaging, and stats tracking. Steam takes all of those things that made XFire so popular and added onto it. They have their store where you can instantly buy and download a game that you might not find in stores, or don’t want to drive out to a store. It has full support for separate mod installations, and a few other features that you might find in your experience using it.

It’s totally worth the try, and you might find yourself making the switch over.

Queedium Services beta

Now, if one were to head to http://queedium.com/services.html they would be served up a part of the queedium site that nobody else has seen outside of the people behind queedium. It is essentially a place to go that offers people a constant price for any queedium services. Therefore based off of what this site tells the consumer they will be able to judge if they want to use queedium for their business opportunity.
